[W126 Coupe] Climate Control Problems 1983 380SEC

I have a 1983 model 380sec.  Having trouble with climate control system (heating/ac).  

After dealer charges, charge holds about 11/2 days.  Dealer tells me not leaking.

Also have problem that to get cool have to move temp control all the way to cold. Then to get off, move to heat all the way.  If I move to moderate temp in middle, get whatever was on heat or cold.  Bot car in 2003.  In 2003 the temp blend control worked.  Also now will be blowing full blast then just shut off with cabin still hot.

Is the temp control bad causing compressor to run wrong and blow the freon out the relief valve?
