Interesting on the Dunlops...a set of those came on Jack's car when I
purchased it and they are bar none the Worst tyre I have ever had on any of
my cars. Didn't stick worth a damn, didn't last and LOUD as hell! My tyre
guy here who has been @ it for over 20 years absolutely abhors the SP9000's.

I've had very good luck w/ the Kuhmo Exsta 711/712's running on 17's w/
H&R's. My next set for my white car is Michelin PS2's. I've also run some
pirellis but found they tend to get grossly out of round when they are
nearing the end of their life. Had a set of Goodrocks on a car...they fell
apart in about 25K.... I have also heard good things about Toyo's for the
money. If you are looking for a good middle of the line BFG makes some
decent bits.

If you want the best stock highway/mileage tyre a Michelin Harmony is the
way to go IMO.
