[W126 Coupe] Headlights Beam Height Adjustment Switch - notworking(560 Euro)

All the W126 cars are fitted with two sockets, even in the US where there is no actual wiring for them. Benz did this because it made it easier to make both right and left hand drive cars, and only the socket on the side of the driver is supposed to actually work...IIRC anyways.

I have tested the bulbs, and I have also swapped the reverse lights /
fog lights bulbs, and in both cases, the bulbs are fine. My car
definitely originally came with two foglights (sockets, bulbs), as
the single previous owner of the car has definitely not had them
fitted or altered. And as I mentioned, this is standard practice in
SA, cars usually came with two fog light bulbs in the rear, only
exception being many of the newer cars (Renaults, Ford hatchbacks,
etc) that only physically have one foglight.

So... not the bulbs, probably not the wiring (as you said) so... must
be the sockets? But I find it unlikely that it's both sockets that
have failed. But I will do more
testing before I can be sure.

Just one question: Does the orange indicator mean that the wiring is
in fact good? (i.e. will it not light up if there is a wiring problem).

kind regards,
Dawid
