[W126 Coupe] Looking for a 560SEC

Gunay,

I am no expert, and as for personal taste I don't like the weird
wheels on the car you're looking at, but from the pictures,
everything else looks great in my opinion. The front indicator lights
were of course swapped for clear ones (which look very good on the blue)
so I would just have a knowledgeable person take a look at the car,
to make sure those indicators were put in on purpose (or stylistic
reasons), and not because there was frontal damage as well (and they
"took the opportunity" to put in clear lights).

There are many tell-tale signs you can look for under the hood, to
see if it was resprayed or not. If it was just the rear damage, and it's
properly repaired, I would say the price is good, especially if there
aren't many around in Turkey.

I would not at all worry about the 217,000km... My meticulously cared
for (but driven hard) MINI Cooper S had more issues
at 20,000km than my SEC at 100,000km. But only consider this car if
you have the full service history + the original books, etc.
Go drive the car, and make sure there are almost no rattles in the
interiour (which is also usually a sign that it was taken apart).

I think the reason of for having the books (manual, etc) being so
important, is not for its own sake, but because if it's no longer in
the car, there is typically
a very good reason for that, and that reason is more often than not
because it was in a repair shop, and they were lost or stolen during
the process.

my 2c
