You've got the scoop element to the drivers upper side of console, the
floor heater flap element on your year is a cigarette box shaped affair
with a horizonatl linkage on the face of the heater box behind the
pushbutton unit, the defrost element is to the upper right passenger
side (near the left corner of the glove box, and then you have the (2)
on the fresh air/recirc flap. G Murphy's kit is for the round elements
so the heater flap unit may be MB direct replacement only. I'd ask
George if he has a replacement.

Maybe this can also finally fix my very wierd intermittent heat problem where hot air would come out of the front side vents and out of the defroster vent, but cold air would come out of the center front vents (while the hot air was simultaneously coming out of the side vents).

My SEC tended to blow out the defroster vents as well and I have the George Murphy kit to fix all of the under dash actuators. Bad news is that I have a bit more pressing work to do (install the LS6) and won't get to repair/rebuild the actuators or test them for a while.

>So I've got a couple problems it sounds like. I wonder why my center rear doesn't blow AC air and why my AC blows out the defrost vents instead of the center front vents even though the vacuum switches behind the glovebox (btw Dick, I'm not saying all the vacuum switches are good, just the ones directly behind the glovebox. All the other ones I'm just guessing on). Perhaps this is all one pushbutton unit problem i.e. the AC turns on but there is some solder joint that is supposed to tell the vents what to do that isn't working? Time to start flexing the pushbutton unit. Argh...sometimes I wish I could just say "I'm not coming in to work today, I have to fix my car's ventilation system."
