[W126 Coupe] Iraq

One funny story occurred upon Sean's return after he got in from days of
travel arriving home at midnight. The next morning at 6am he jumped in
his car and headed for the base. On his way he was stopped for speeding
by the MA State Police. When queried where are you going and where are
you coming from, Sean explained reporting to duty sir coming from
Northern Iraq. The officer then said do you have any idea how fast you
were moving to which Sean replied, no idea sir just driving as per
usual. Sean was asked to slow down and sent on his way. Clocked speed
was 109 mph. When he went out for lunch with another of his returning
buddies that same day his buddy said, jeez Sean it feels like everything
is going so slow. Sean's retort was yeah I know and there are speed
limits to be observed too. The upside is no one is shooting at us.

By way of convention, while traveling the highways in Iraq the pedal is
sent to the floor and the speedo stops at 85. The convoys roll at a
speed equal to the slowest mover in the convoy. No one really knows the
speed, they don't care either. The highways are the most dangerous
place for our troops in that country. Clear one minute and very deadly
the next.
