[W126 Coupe] What could this be???

[Kirby]

1989 560SEC with 118k miles. There is an intermittent condition where the symptoms are:
The ABS light comes on and the idle increases from around 700 rpm to about 1600 rpm.
It stays that way for a minute or two, then goes away. This condition seems to happen several times a day when I'm driving.
Any thoughts
