[W126 Coupe] 500 / 560 Transmission Interchangeable?

Hi Kevin
Why not go for a 1992-1995 W140 transmission, 722.370, or even better, one
from a w124 500E at a breakers yard ?
IF you can get a low mileage one of those, you'll be well chuffed.
All you need to do is swap over the rear housing and tail from your existing
tranny and straight in.
It'll have a small hole in the bell housing for the crank position sensor
which I think your early SEC does not use. But just cover that off.
