Greetings all,
cannot believe it's been at least a year since my last post...where the
heck does the time go...
What I have: 1985 500 Euro with a blown tranny
What I've heard...the 500 trannys apparently are not as smooth as the
560's. That being said, Mercedes apparently has moded their 500's so when
you buy a factory rebuilt now it's better than the original. So...what to
do.
Do I put a factory rebuilt 500 Euro back in?
Or should I put a 560 Euro in?
Can a 560 be interchanged. IE is the housing the same etc etc?
Has anyone done this? Can anyone tell me IF the 560 is really a smoother
tranny?
Would love to hear your infinate wisdom on this one.

PS:
If any of you remember, a couple of years ago I was restoring from the
ground up my 500. Finished the restoration project last year. Turned out
better than expected and like driving new SEC...so tight, so straight and
so nice! Not for the faint of heart though as it is very very costly. Such
is the love for SEC;) Of course I replaced virtually everthing.....except
the transmission and engine. I promise I'll get around to posting some
pics in the future.
