Hi Gary,
I found my wires were bad when the engine had this intermittent skip at idle and sometimes while accelerating.
Having spent nearly $40 for a replacement plug connector during an somewhat pricey fishing expedition by our local Boston West MB Service department while they went after the skip..... 'We need more time to diagnose.." Ha Ha.... sure.
The next Spring, I found a couple of the spark plug connectors were green or black with corrosion where they attached to the plugs. After that discovery, it was a no brainer to pick a set up at a different Benz dealer. The car has run the nuts for a couple of driving seasons (25K miles or so), the wire set is lifetime warrantee. What's not to like?
Hope this helps, Malcolm Lee
