Carl:
Several thoughts and in no particular order. First, you might be able
to scare one up from a salvage yard. Second, ask Jonathan to do a
search for a 1986 300SE Euro using the European EPC to see if he can
provide a part #. Then take the part # to your local MB dealer and he
should be able to order it for you. Third, post a small (less than
50kb) image of the back of the switch to this list or to me off-line. I
may have a back plug connector and harness from one of the (2) parts
cars that will work. You would need to build the harness to the two
horn selections.
By the way, the true euro configuration placed the loud high tone horns
on the cross brace up front where the aux fan lies and the city low tone
horns were placed facing the pavement just under the driver's euro
headlamp assembly. The switch is used with horn icon depressed for
street, and the blank icon for city if I remember correctly. I'll have
to take a look later tonight.
Regards
Dick
