[W126 Coupe] Stereo upgrade

Itrat,

I have the Reus system and it sounds really good. However, I'd do things a little different if I was to do it again.

First, I wouldn't but the amp under the seats as lowering them fully will hit the amps and cause damage.

Second, will the 10" woofers can but out some deep bass, I think I'd opt for the 8" to get a little tighter bass.

I choose an Eclipse head unit and trunk CD changer and both have worked well. One feature this head unit doesn't have that the wife's Sony does, is the ability to see the other CDs without having to select it for playing. Don't know if Nakamichi head unit has this feature, but it's handy. The Sony head unit is probably not up to par with the rest of the Reus system, so keep that in mind.

I also choose the more expensive front dash speakers and they produce and incredible sound stage in front of you.

  Hope this helps.

  Bob

Hope all is well. As you know the factory Becker stereo system is a piece of
junk. I am looking to upgrade my stereo system (head unit and the speakers).
I want to do it with minimal messing around with the interior of the car and
without having to put a big unit in the trunk. I've seen some postings
recommending Reus Audio. Their base package starts at $1,650. Does anyone
have that? Does that involve a unit in the trunk?

My mechanic has been pushing some Blaupunkt units that he has in his shop.

Any insight would be much appreciated.
