[W126 Coupe] headlight stalk

There is a plug for the stalk on the bottom of the steering column. It's not
that hard to remove the stalk.
There is a fuse for the "optical horn". Replace that fuse and while you're
at it, replace all the others with new fuses. These fuses oxidize and it
screws up the contact with the fuse holder. You get everything from good
contact, kinda good (e.g., intermittent) contact, to no contact at all, all
with a fuse that might appear in satisfactory condition. Get a full set of
copper looking fuses and replace the fuses with the silver (likely gray)
metal strips.
Later,
Mike R.

All the functions of the light-washer stalk work, except the flashing of the
light when the stak is pulled,
which went intermittant intermittant before dying completely.
Looked at the switch and it appears to be hard wired. How is it changed, how
difficult is it,
and is the problem due to dirty contacts inside the switch and, if so, can
they just be cleaned.
I don't think it's separately fused, although when it works the highbeam
indicator on the dash lighs.
