I had the similar problem and the previous assessment is accurate except in my case the pushing of the button didn't seem to work. If we are on the same page, the issue is not life threatening (electrical fire) but more of an annoyance. You should be able to run until it fails. The part is about $350 and I don't remember labor, but should be less than 2 hours to do the work.
