Hi All,

Can I get advise what to look for?
They were repaving a main through road in my neighborhood. At night in the
rain I couldn't see squat as the top coat of the road was stripped and
every man
hole and gas cover was 4-6 inches above the surface.
I got cut off and I hit one doing about 35 in my 89 560 SEC.
Now I have a problem that a shop I brought it to couldn't see anything.
When I am on a straight road the car rides true. When I am on the highway,
doing 60+ and the road banks to the right the left front rumbles and feels
like
the wheel is going to come off.
If it banks to the left there is no problem. When I go over 70 with a
straight wheel I get a rumble too.
Should I bring it to Me/Be? The county is covering it in a suit as many
people are suing them for damage on their cars.

Thanks
Jack

 Jack,
I had those same symptoms, 60+ highway and a rumble or shimmy on the
downside front wheel, when my thrust bushing on that side was bad. The
thrust bushing takes the load of the car, front to back, as in braking. I
am sure they have a stress limit when hit with a pothole or bump.
Besides tire damage as already mentioned, I believe it is possible that the
thrust bushing on that side is damaged.
