[W126 Coupe] W126 Questions

I just got a 1983 500SEC AMG and have a few questions.

The first question, almost all of the literature I'm finding doesn't list one in 1983. Second, the only thing I know that has AMG on it, besides the trunk, is a receipt for an "AMG valve job" years ago at a shop in the Dallas area. I have all recipes back to 1984. Third, it idles at 1500 RPM. I checked the idle control valve and it's operational, at least the piston is moving, and moves when 12 VDC is across the terminals. a friend of mine loaned me an extra idle speed control module from one of his 1985 500 SECs to verify if this is the problem. The idle dropped to about 800 RPM but oscillates as much as 200 RPM. The number on mine is 002 545 33 32. His number is 002 545 45 32, as close as I can remember without getting back under the hood. Does anyone have any insight on my actual problem? Fourth, the odometer and clock don't work. Do these have the same fixes as the old 107's, gear slipping on the shaft and blown resistor?

I just got this car to drive while I am restoring my 1972 350SL 4.5, but after only a week I'm wondering if I don't like the SEC better. It has a few old car problems like blown stereo speaker, windshield washer pump, seatbelt presenters, etc. but it's an extremely sound car. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Pete Williams
