[W126 Coupe] Climate Control Fuse ?

I had an 86 560 SEC and had exactly the same problem (I don't have it
anymore, so I have to go by memory.) There is a fuse outside of the
fuse box...I don't know if it's the blower fuse you guys are talking
about, because I don't know what it was called. It was a strip of
metal not encased in plastic or anything...in other words, just a strip
of thin metal between two screws; and, mine was completely burnt away.
I theorized that the poor old a/c was working so hard in the excessive
heat, that it literally blew the fuse. Anyway, if you're standing at
the driver's side fender looking at the fuse box, look just past it to
the vertical "wall" that is behind the engine but forward of the
firewall. I think the fuse is under some sort of cover, but mine never
had the cover.
