Hi All,

Is there someone that can help me so I can get my car home?
I just went to the library to drop dvd's in the drop slot @ 1AM and my 89 560 SEC would not start and I had to walk 2 miles.
The tank is full.
If I held the pedal to the floor it would start for a second then quit.
Then it would start with no gas held for the count of one. I actually had to start it a few times, foot floored and when the revs were high pull it into R so I could get it into a parking spot that wouldn't get the car towed. (I know that is not good for the tranny, I had no choice). I couldn't keep it running.
I want to shoot over there today (Sunday) what can I look for? I did hear the fuel pump and it did start for a second when the pedal was floored (I know flooring it bypasses things in the injection system when it is flooded) but it would cut right out. I tried for about 15 minutes.

Thanks and Happy Easter

RKS:
There are a range of problems that can be temporarily fixed by disconnecting the EHA. There are two nuts that hold on the air filter - loosen them and pull off the air filter. The fuel distributor is behind the air intake. On the right hand side (looking from the front - that's the driver's side for US and European cars) you'll see a small black plastic box. At the rear of it you'll find a plug. Pull off the plug and tuck it away somewhere.

With this disconnected, problems with the oxygen sensor, numerous other sensors and switches and the CIS-E are effectively bypassed. Try to start the car - no throttle for at least 4s. If it still fails to start then you may have a problem with fuel delivery.
