[W126 Coupe] and speaking of tires...

I have gone through about 2 sets of Dunlops SP9000's, got about 20-25K out of them, which isn't horrible. Handled awesome, even towards the end in wet and dry. Just put the Kuhmo's on, a good bit cheaper than the Dunlops. First impressions (about 1K miles so far) is that they are good in the dry (not as good as the Dunlops but pretty close) but in the wet no way. I already had a sliding situation once that surprised the heck out of me, so now I'm more cautious in the wet than I used to be with the Dunlops. No idea of mileage obviously since they are so new. I am running 18” pirellis…run out of rubber like they are free. Same problem with dunlops. I’ll be trying Kumho supras/ecstas next.

My Lorinsers do have spacers and I have uneven wear, but I'm considering more expensive tires to see whether that's the problem. I would recommend 17" rather than 18" tires/wheels. I believe it would be the best compromise in handling, look, etc. The tires are lasting more than 10,000 miles, though.Haven't yet had recommendations on what brand of large tires other members are happy with.PaulOn Sep 28, 2005, at 10:54 PM, Ronny wrote:> Your wheels really looks nice, but how long does one tire last?
