[W126 Coupe] Passenger Door Handle will not open door

I've had my car painted and took every thing off the car.  When I put the handles on the passger door will not work.  I switched the handles and the driver's side did work in the passger side.  Some how I did not put that handle together properly.  Any help will be appreciated.  The lever that should pull the door release forward does not engage after I put the handle back into the car.  What did I do wrong?
