All of the devices you mention are designed to hold flammable/explosive gas.

"Maybe we should all convert from gasoline powered cars and not use gas 
forced air heaters.  And forget
about camping equipment.  And if any of you are still smoking and using
cigarette lighters, better watch out before you blow yourselves up."

I am not sure that I would want to put 1.5 liters of propane in my car in a 
system that was not built specifically for it.
