Stupid question, but how do I figure that? Look at the firing order and
then see how the cylinder numbers are ordered on the distributor cap?

Advance is in the opposite direction that the rotor in the distributor
turns
. if the rotor turns clockwise, turn the body of the distributor counter
-clockwise to advance the timing. (unless you have a french ducellier
electric system,) Ducellier makes Lucas Electrics look genius.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] which direction to rotate distributor?
Which direction do you rotate the distributor on a 380 to advance
timing?
Also, anybody know what size allen key that fastener is so I don't have
to
keep buying and returning allen keys until I get the right size?
Thanks,
Richard
