MXV"s are good tires, but are making a lot more noice.

Hi Clay:
I've run and continue to run Michelin MXV Plus 4's on two MB sedans and found them to be a great ride. Treadwear was excellent as well with 60k+ miles on the last set. I do rotation every 9k miles and run with 32PSI all around. The tires are 205 65 15's. I'd say Michelin's are a fine tire. I'd say they are good handling in the snow for the first 30k miles then it's time for a set of snow tires. Wet weather handling excellent at all speeds.
On the 18's I've run Pirelli P7000's and Yokohama AVS ES100's. I only run the coupe with the 18's in the summer and never have driven on wet roads so, I have no experience with handling in wet or snow conditions nor do I have wear information or experience with increased road noise as they wear. One set of Pirelli P5000's on a set of AMG 18's for a 300E with 50 % wear were very noisy.
Both BF Goodrich and Bridgestone's at one time or another on MB sedans I consider to be really poor performers from treadwear to handling.
Regards,
Dick
