I've have had very good luck with batteries from Advance Auto Parts. There isn't much else I'd buy from them, I know of too many nightmares especially with their belts and rebuilt electrical parts, as opposed to the good luck I've experienced with their batteries. They pro-rate them too, but never exercised that option. I probably have 6 of them amongst my cars now.

The only M-B battery I have is in my 280SE 4.5. And I'll stick with it as

1- I have had absolutely no trouble with it
2- The car is shown in concours events and I want to keep it correct
3- I have seen people get dinged for incorrect batteries

Thanks for the chrome tipping the M-B pipes tip. I like that idea. Does the plater hang the pipe so just the end goes through the plating process or mask it to selectively plate the tips. I think Id like that on my 82 380SEC since I'm doing exhaust work on it now.

Also, a new one. My 82 500SE has no cats on it. Can the correct exhaust pieces be had in this country or am I on my own fabbing it? My import documentation says it meets EPA emmissions requirements without them so I would obviously like to keep it that way.
