How do I get the brass rivet from the old slider out?

Hi Richard:

You are referring to the nylon slide with a pivot point attachment to
the
lift arm.

You just need a block of wood for resting the new rivet and nylon insert
on
followed by a chisel 1/2 to 1 inch wide (doesn't really matter) and
hammer
the chisel tip in a cross hatch fashion so as to mushroom the brass
rivet to
overlap the edges of the lift arm hole.  This presumes all pieces are in
position before you start whacking the soft metal with the chisel.

Overall a pretty easy repair.  Also, I used a block of wood to hold the
glass in position while removing the lift arm and this made for easier
reassembly as well.
