There are car shows in NC that consist of more than the local teen's
honda's? Where do I find these shows?

Ellen,
That is amazing, but is it the great cars or great legs that are getting
all those trophy's!!?? Inquiring minds want to know! Congrats!!
I may not need detail lessons as I think I'm just going to dip the car
in Simple Green and wipe it off. That should work, don't ya think?? All
right, since I don't use my toothbrush much on my tooth, I'll start
using it on the SEC. It's shinier anyway (the SEC). I've done Field Day
exercises (clean it until EVERTHING shines) on nuclear submarine engine
rooms - I know how to detail!! My problem is going to be convincing
myself that I want to put that much effort out. :-)
Quick story - I worked at a shipyard for a while and took the new guy
down to see a couple of submarines. The new one looked like crap as it
was still being welded together and wired, but the one across the pier
was in for a refueling and was likely ten years old. The older one was
clean enough that you could eat off the turbines (or anything else in
the engine room), but the "new" one looked like a rust bucket. The poor
boy was confused until I pointed out that the shipyard needed to finish
and paint the new one, then the crew would go to work and actually get
it clean and shiny. Instead of toothbrushes, they let us use small paint
brushes to clean, but the concept's the same. Every nook, every cranny,
all surfaces - either paint it or polish it. At least this time I
actually own the beast I'm polishing.
Later,
Mike R.

Hey Mike!
You have some concours catching up to do.
9/10 I took 2 cars to Tri O Rama in NC.....First Place and Best of
Show.
Yesterday at Deutsche Marque Concours in VA.....I took 4 cars and won 5
trophies in the series from First to Third, and Judge's Choice. Yes,
Star Cruiser was in there in the mix.
I saw 2 other DC area SEC's..........one guy with his Dad who never
heard of our group here, and another who departed as quickly as he came
I never got a chance to talk to.
So..........you want Detail Lessons now?
