[W126 Coupe] How much reserve? and other thoughts

It's the holes that kill it. It might look cool without the moldings if
you have the holes filled and the car repainted then lay a chrome strip
on the car to break things up. Just a thought.

I've gone about 25 miles with the light on and have yet to run out of
gas.
The car looks pretty bad without the lower mouldings, as the paint may
be a
different shade depending on how faded your car is, plus the holes and
indentations for mounting the panels.

Hi guys,
I was just wondering as I was driving down the freeway the other day
bathed
in the orange glow from my low fuel light, "Just how far can I go before
I
run completely dry and coast to a stop?"
Actually, while I've got your attention, I've also been thinking about
removing the lower door mouldings, because the driver's door moulding
has a
broken clip and it rattles whenever I close the door. I figure those
body
mouldings must weigh 40+ pounds as well. Has anyone removed theirs? How
does it look? Am I being a Philistine for even suggesting it?
Yours truly,
Chris Goldswain
