[W126 Coupe] HVAC fan

It's the fan. An easy replacement if you have no airbag, might even be
easy if you do. Ignore what the service manual says about tacking out
knee bolster area, instead just drop the bottom of where the glovebox is
and the fan will come out.

any tips on my broken HVAC fan

is it likely to be the control unit or the fan motor

I replaced the fuse and before it cut out completely it was groaning and

running only very slowly

I seem to hear the dampers moving when I select different air modes but 
no fan  - even on defrost
