[W126 Coupe] Brake pads

In an effort to get the rear brakes quiet, I put new rotors, Pagid pads,
and, while I was in there, a set of Pagid parking brake shoes on today. That
was a lot of work! It took most of the day but it's done. I chamfered the
pads and used CRC compound on the pads and, so far, they are quiet.
Absolutely nothing would get the semi-metallic pads on the rear to stay
quiet, although the semi-metallic pads on the front are quiet. Just hope
these rear pads aren't too dusty. I was fed up with the noisy brakes and the
Pagids are supposed to cure that. I'm not worried about braking capabilities
since these are disk brakes and without taking the car on a track, pretty
much any pad will work just fine once or twice in a high speed to stop
braking maneuver.

That hard start problem is weird - difficult after several hours but not
overnight. I was going to suggest a leaky injector that depressurizes the
system but that also occurs overnight as well. Any other symptoms? Have you
tried turning on the ignition key twice if the car has set for a couple of
hours? Turn the key on once but not to start for maybe three seconds, then
off, then back on for a couple of seconds then to start. That will make sure
that the fuel system is up to pressure when you hit the starter. If it cures
the hard start - fuel difficulty, if not then one possibility eliminated.

I put new pads on all four corners and wear sensors on the front about a
year ago and have had absolutely no noise. The pads were Padgid (sp?). I
also used MB pad paste. The pads fit without having to camfer the edges.
I've been told that MB uses relatively soft steel on the rotors so soft pads
are a must. Hard pads i.e. Repco Metal Masters will cause premature wear on
the rotors. I'm willing to put up with the softer pad's brake dust.
Replacing OEM pads is certainly cheaper than new rotors.
