>Hein,
>When considering stock brake assemblies, it comes down to what your priority is; ?having clean wheels or stopping.? Obviously quiet brakes has also become a priority with some, but I have never experienced that problem.? Chamfering the edges of the new pads is a common prevention of noise on all makes of pads.??Most Dealers do this on OEM pads.
>I tend to use (in stock applications) Pagid or Ate, (OEM) which are obviously both made from pressed powered concentrated sulphuric acid.? If you fail to clean the wheels regularly, not only do you suffer the shame and?embarrassment of filthy wheels ("Hey mister, do you live in a friggin' coal mine, or what?"), but the alloy wheel surfaces turn into permanent ugly pits before they eventually rot completely off your car.?
>But your ugly dirty wheeled collector's item does stop when asked to, and some people appreciate that.
>I have heard that there are disks that bolt behind your wheels to keep the dust from migrating to your wheels.? True or fiction?
>I'm looking for good old?antique asbestos pads.?
