[W126 Coupe] Please Help, alarm issues..

I have an '87 560 SEL and its alarm is now going off every time any door is opened, locked or not. It also stays on while the car is going down the road! In the process of disconnecting the alarm control unit, after unplugging the smaller of the two, I noticed the unit was making a clicking sound very similar to the sound made when the turn signal is switched on. Unplugging the larger one eliminated the clicking. Plugging it back in, as well as the smaller one, the clicking is gone. I closed the car door and opened it again, Surprise, alarm.. 
At the moment, the Becker radio is disconnected. I was thinking this could be related to the issue since there is a Becker label on the alarm control unit, but the car has been driven for a while now without the radio connected, so why is the alarm all of a sudden going off? I remember this same issue happened in my 560 SEC, though its radio was hooked up. Any help/advice would be Much appreciated! thanks, James
