WOW! The wires must have been deteriorating for months. I guess they
caused "little misses" that were either undetectable, or mistaken for
bumps in the road. With all NINE wires new (don't forget the coil
wire!), and a new distributor cap and rotor, my 1991 560SEC feels like
it has 50 more HP.
Just because these engines are bullet-proof doesn't mean the soft bits
and pieces outside of them never need attention!
BTW, the wire set I bought from Jonathan came with all nine wires the
right length, correct ends installed, and the left and right banks were
already enclosed in the same kind of plastic sleeving as the originals.
A real plug-n-play operation!
