If you think the 126 is a financial black hole, try using a similarly aged Jag as an every day ride.

Mike;

Front shocks for your '89 SEC should cost abt $55 - $60 ea for OEM front shocks. You can install them yourself. If you have self leveling, the shocks cost a few bucks less.

Yes, these SEC's are financial Black Holes. They suck money directly from your wallet every time you turn the key just as though you have a German ShopVac attached to your hip!

In comparison, if you had the sense of owning an '89 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park LSD Mark XVII, your front shocks would only be around $40. The beauty of THAT car is, you will actually never NEED to replace the shocks because, lets face it, who could ever tell the difference? So you save TWICE by owning a Ford.

Or if you owned an '89 Pontiac Sunbird my bet is you would think it handled pretty smartly through corners providing you had been smoking joints the size of English cucumbers. Shock absorbers for the '89 Pontiac Sunbird are cheap but there's a hidden downside. The cost of TWO shocks exceed the Blue Book value of the car! That means it would be financial foolishness to buy more than one.

The other downside of owning a Pontiac Sunbird is the cost of the anti-depressants needed to keep you from losing your breakfast every morning when you emerge from your house and have to face a Pontiac Sunbird in your driveway.
