Calvin,
I had a very similar problem with an '87 Ford Taurus (I know, I know.. not
even the same league). In my case it would stop fine but as soon as you
took your foot off the brake to hit the gas it would stall - no sputtering
it was like you turned it off with the key, and it would start right back
up no problem. Again it was intermittent and no one could figure it out,
until one day while driving at 60kph it just died, I coasted to a stop and
could not re-start it. Turned out to be the ignition control module. Never
happened again after that.
Yours truly,
Chris Goldswain

I need your help. My 83 380 SEC has developed a problem that could get my
wife killed or injured. I know that taking it to a dealer will not fix the

disgust. The engine dies every once in a while, particularly while
turning a corner at low speed. Yesterday, my wife says that it died while
she was driving down the road as she was coming to a stop for a light. I
have replaced all of the idle control mechanisms in the car that I know of
since I had a rough idle problem. The engine is rebuilt as is the tranny
(about a year or so ago with good contractors). Car has new wires and darn
near everything has been replaced except the computer. Car is a Euro.
Any help would be appreciated. Cal Sincerely, Calvin A.Young
