[W126 Coupe] AC Compressor, heating

IIRC the compressor ties into the defogger (the one with two filled
arrows), not defroster. You do need the aux. fan to switch on with the
defroster, which can be achieved by jumping the wires. Not sure why the
aux. fan turns on, maybe if the engine is overheating to cool things
down fast you just hit the defroster? Either way, wouldn't you need a
new and different sized belt if you take out the compressor? IIRC it's
on the same belt as the water pump.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] AC Compressor, heating

Markus,
See, I kind of remember reading that the compressor ties in with the
defroster, which is what led me to ask about the heating.
Any idea what the compressor actually does in order to cool the
interior? Or how that system generally works?
Thanks,
James
