[W126 Coupe] O2 sensor

Surely there is a purpose to warming up the sensor, no?

What's the point? Just cut them off.  Save yourself the $15 and get yourself a starbucks drink and a Mercedes enthusiast magazine.  You won't have any change left...stupid barnes and noble...

Hmmm...I asked Rusty and he says Benz offers a $15 adapter tomake up for the fact that only the univeral O2 sensors are availble now. Sounds to me to be a more elegant solution than just ignoring the wires.
