[W126 Coupe] central locking question

The central locking system uses one wire for control. You momentarily 
connect it to +12 to lock or connect it to ground to unlock (or vice-versa, 
I don't remember). Either the switch in the door is not working or the wire 
is broken somewhere. Since the remote isn't working you might see if you 
can find where it's connected to the locking system. If it's in the 
driver's door the problem is most certainly a broken wire or a connector 
that's gone bad. I'd look carefully at the alarm installation, some 
installers are not very careful :-(
