[W126 Coupe] HVAC "Aspirator" Hose

I fear the "aspirator" hose -- the one the little fan sucks through, 
thus grabbing air from the region of the overhead light panel -- has 
gone bad. There is not enough suction at the inlet vent to hold up even 
a single thickness of kleenex an inch square. Any hints or tips on how 
to get into all the places needed to replace it? Can you get suitable 
hose at the hardware store? Thanks!
