I did the comparable prices and got statements from friends about how anal I
was about the car. Didn't matter - it was the professional appraisal. Their
job is to include comparable price estimates so don't waste your time.

Thank you all for your advise/info... I'm going to see about finding
a 3rd part appraiser to start, as well as look for comparable cars for
sale in all the usual places. Hopefully I'll be able to negotiate
something more to my liking w/ these fools;-)
