Hi Gerry,
Yes, it may not be an AMG one. Haven't got round to clearing the mass of
muck on it...saving that for the weekend....so I'll have a bt more info once
I've done some cleaning up.
Totally agree on the RPM's - I have sacrificed the highway cruising
refinement, but whilst it is a loss, the gain of the performance from the
horny 3.27 more than offsets that loss. I wanted my 500 SEC 'AMG' livery car
to be just like the real AMG , whilst my 560 is the luxury cruiser. Which is
why I opted for the 2.82 on that. I almost bought the 3.07 from BW's, but
decided against it as I didn't want to loose highway luxury on that machine.
My 500SEC only does a max of 1500 miles each year - and all of it is around
town and a few very short (like 10 miles) highway trips. So the time I will
spend above 80 will be minimal....I always use the 560 or the glorious 500E
for the longer journeys....
Only two more upgrades planned for the 500SEC 'AMG' car this summer and that
is the engine and tranny. It's the stock euro 500 (240bhp)....BIG upgrades
planned.....watch this space in the summer....
But once this diff is fitted, I'll give some feedback on performance and
upper end speeds/noise.
I'm still grinning....like a cat who got the cream.....
