Dan, Would you explain in detail about how to wire the momentary switch to the kickdown switch. It sounds straigtfoward and very simple but I need specifics since I am lost with electronics. It sounds like you would get a spring return switch with two wires each connected to some pin/leg on the kickdown button under the gas pedal. I do enjoy the smoothness of 2nd gear start but occationally would like to push a button and raise the front wheels off the ground from a redlight(would need to get the jack out of the trunk). Thanks for more info. Jim Alexander

If the BergWerks are no longer available, in the later models you can
get on-demand first gear starts by wiring a MOMENTARY CONTACT pushbutton
switch across the kickdown switch under the throttle pedal. Touch the
button after you have stopped, and you get first gear start for the next
start only.
Kind of nice, actually, because you don't have to remember to turn it
off on slippery roads; and can avoid chirping the tires when the officer
is looking.

Never argue with a dragon, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
