Conversions to R-134, I have done 4. It works fine so long as you observe
the process for making the conversion. Riding on a 98 degree day in a black
SEC and staying icy cold is a reality if the conversion is done right.
Ditto with any MB so long as you observe the process. I recommend you do it
yourself using the proper gear (costs a few bucks) and take your time vs.
relying on a mechanic who seeds your thoughts with failure such as you
describe with blowing all the seals. This suggests he has not done a
conversion or if he did, he failed to follow the process or he worked on a
system that was previously damaged and just let go with the conversion.
