[W126 Coupe] Air Conditioning

My SEC is still R-12 and not able to keep up with a Las Vegas summer. It
probably needs some more juice but I will need to borrow some gauges to
check it. My 560SEL was converted to R134 a year ago and it is MUCH colder
than the SEC. I believe the R12 system needs to be flushed clean then the
R134 lubricant and Freon is added, along with the R134 connectors.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Air Conditioning

Hi all,

It is hot as heck where I live. My A/C blows out hot
air that's hotter than the air outside. So...

Has anyone been able to successfully convert their A/C
system on their SEC to use RF134 instead of the RF12
refrigerant?

If so, can a simple $50 kit at say Autozone or
O'Reilly's do it?

A MBZ salvage yard owner told me that if you inject
RF134 into a MBZ A/C system, after flushing the RF12
out, that the pressure from the RF134 would be so high
that it will blow all the seals, damage the condenser,
expansion valve, etc.... (true/false?)

However, someone else told me that this is not true
and did the conversion himself on his car. However,
this person owns a Buick, so that opens up the
question, even though he supposedly has a license for
A/C work and was confident of his knowledge.

Any recommendations?

Thank ya!
