[W126 Coupe] Bambi is dead.....

Yes, I know my SEC's and my SEL's.

Parts being more expensive on the coupe is not a funtion of it being an SEC.
The hood is more expensive due to the fact it is aluminium construction. The
rear windscreen is more expensive because it is approx 30% larger than an
SEL/SE windscreen. The grille again is a bigger construction with a crafted
chrome star rather than simple straight chrome strips. But parts are not
marked up due to the fact that it is an SEC. The only car I know of that has
marked up prices on parts is the limited production w124 500E.

SEC bonnets are 1k gbp brand new from the dealership - 50gbp used from a
breaker here in the UK. Max anyone will charge here is 200gbp - that's still
a country mile cheaper than $1500 !

I don't see how anyone can charge so much for an SEC bonnet - especially
when you can get an entire complete SEC for about $3-4k.
