Subject: [W126 Coupe] white hose on left side of center console

If I have a non functioning AC, does it matter at all? I don't exactly
have everything disassembled (everything is back together, plus
apparently at some point some idiot mechanic worked on the driver's side
footwell, lost all the screws, replaced some of them with his own, but
decided to glue the panel on the side of the center console on - I was
just able to flex it enough to run my wires - he also glued some other
stuff down making what should have been a quick thing take hours).

That's a drain hose for the AC air box.  There is one on each side, and
it
is good insurance to replace them every few years.  Especially if you
have
already disassembled everything.  Cheap, too.

It most likely is the tube to flow air to the rear duct on the console
for 
the back seat.

While running the new wires for the new speakers, I came across a white
hose (well, shaped like a hose, but it was made out of foam and had a
coiled wire in it) on the bottom left side of the center console. What's
this hose for? Mine had a tear in it, it doesn't look easy to replace (I
couldn't see either end of it) so I just patched it with duct tape. It
seems to be involved with the climate control (when I would turn on the
climate control I would feel light airflow coming out of it).
