[W126 Coupe] Rear window glass replacement

My 1990 560SEC rear window defogger does not work. Had it checked for 
electrical connections, it has power to the glass, was told it does not 
complete the circuit across the electrical grid.
In other words, it needs a new glass. My question for this group is what 
is the experience of list members in replacing the rear window? Replace 
with MB original, MB oem replacement? Has any one tried one of the glass 
replacement companys? 

The original glass is about $1000 depending on which dealer you speak 
to. Novus quoted me $275 plus change installed. Have a call in to 
Safelite, who is the recommended company by USAA insurance, have not 
received a quote.

Any feedback is appreciated.
