[W126 Coupe] HELP!

I work nights and I just went out to start my 1988 560SEC at lunch to
move it closer to the front door of the building.

My key would not turn the ignition at all.

I don't have my owners manual with me for reference if there is anything
in there.

The battery is new. I put a jump on it anyway thinking that there might
be a charging problem and low voltage might lock the ignition. Didn't
change anything.

Key unlocks the car. Headlights are strong. Key will not turn ignition
switch at all. Tried wiggling the steering wheel and moveing the gear shift.

So anyone out there got any ideas?

I need to go home in a while and it is too far to walk.
