[W126 Coupe] dash cover

It’s funny you should know the original owner had installed a Coverlay since
my interior shop assures me no one will know! I guess the AVERAGE guy
wouldn’t know but a SEC’er would. (chuckle) Paul, I rarely get out to
SoCal but I’ll keep it in mind. And Richard, what about getting the
original dash recovered? Some of the vendors in the back of Hemmings
guarantee their replacement molded dash material covering will never, ever
crack no matter what. Thoughts? And how hard would it be to take out the
dash?

Just to let you all know, I've been told by the parts manager at the MB
Classic Center that you'd be wise to get a replacement dash sooner rather
than later as they won't be easy to get for many more years.

Hi, Ike! The prior owner of my car also installed one of these, and
not perfectly either. Nevertheless, I've lived with it for a couple of
years and replacing it is way down on my priorities list. You're more
than welcome to have a look anytime you're in So. Cal.
