Yes the pin is supposed to lock the back.  The link was fixed in a 
reply to myself that has taken quite some time to get distributed, I've 
corrected it in  this post but it's a photo of a tele RB. Alas both are 
3x4 cameras, One was 'restored" by polished the "can't be duplicated" 
patina off the silver, so it's bright.
