Hello all,

I hope this isn't to far afield:

What's the law (U.S.) regarding shooting someone's
property from the road?  For example, if I'm driving
down the road and I see a good subject for a work
of art what is the current accepted practice?  Do
I take the shot then get permission?  Should I get
permission then shoot?  Or shoot, print to see if 
its any good then get permission?

Also, does one offer compensation?  Or only if they
seem reluctant?  And if anyone could give me any
advice about doing any facet of this I'd be grateful.
